Prenatal Education:

This is a great opportunity to discuss what you might expect the first weeks postpartum, create a intro feeding plan, and answer and questions and/or concerns leading up to birth. This is also a great time to establish a relationship with the IBCLC for optimal support postpartum and IBCLC will learn your birthing plan, feeding goals, and anything else there related. Education can be provided hourly or as a package deal based on needs and preferences.

In-person or virtual available.

Follow up Appointments:

Follow-ups can be anywhere from 30 -60 minutes in length. This might be a time to reflect on how progress is going, answer additional questions, or for more complex cases, continue to adjust plan of care to reach towards discussed goals.

In-person or virtual available.

Lactation Support:

Lactation consultation will typically take 60-90 minutes and cover a wide range of topics. Typically, a parent will reach out with a primary concern (but not necessary) that will be focused on during consultation. IBCLC will likely observe a feeding, aid in a pre/post feed weight to help determine how much milk is taken at each breast, as well as a breast/nipple exam and oral exam of infant. IBCLC will provide a plan of care to aid in reaching lactation goals and discuss possible follow up recommendations.

In-person or virtual available.

Insurance and Fees:

At this time, Portland Milk Vibes accepts Moda Health, Aetna, and United Healthcare. IBCLC will help verify that lactation services are covered in your plan.
