It all begins with community…
My mind was blown by the strong mamas working so hard to give their babies optimal nutrition. My love for lactation started here, at a local hospital’s Community Breastfeeding Support Group. I then realized how instrumental peer and professional support is.
I stumbled into this support group. I was majoring in nutrition and it was the closest “nutrition related” option available to me at the time, but it changed my life.
As I continued my educational journey, I spent more time learning about the lactation field through college courses, shadowing lactation consultants, interning with WIC, and watching and listening to parents’ experiences along the way.
I envisioned a beautiful niche working with the mother-baby dyad through lactation and perinatal nutrition education. When I was pregnant, I set out on this path to finish my formal education to become a lactation consultant and accomplish this goal.
Today, I have completed my Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and Masters in Public Health. Additionally, I am a Registered Dietitian and a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I am here with great excitement to help those in need during this truly incredible time in their life.
